Gumbaz in Karnataka is an architectural marvel and prominent tourist site in Srirangapatna in Mysore, Karnataka. It is a grandeur that was erected as a mausoleum under the reign of Tipu Sultan. He constructed this building as the mausoleum for his deceased parents. This mausoleum is the finest example of the Persian architecture in Karnataka and never fails to draw the attention of tourists on an extensive scale.

It Is Known For:-
1)    Gumbaz is located in an enchanting garden that comprises various flowers from Persia, Turkey, France, Kabul, and Mauritius under French rule. Tipu collected the flowers himself.

2)    The grand mausoleum is known for its architecture. Surrounded by the garden, this mausoleum can be accessed by the pathway that leads towards it. It stands on an elevated platform and can be seen from a distance.

3)    The lavishness of the Persian architecture is depicted inside the mausoleum. The interior walls are painted with the tiger stripes. The central hall houses the graves of Tipu Sultan and his parents.

4)    Many members of Tipu’s clan are buried inside this mausoleum.

5)    The lawn of this mausoleum was used for exercising horses in the previous times. Presently, it is installed with benches for visitors.
