Mahatma Gandhi Park

The Rathnagiri Bore in Chikmagalur was renamed to be called the Mahatma Gandhi Park aka MG Park. This park was a long stretch of thick forest before it got transformed into a beautiful park for the people of this area. It is located to the North of Chikmagalur and has become an ideal site for the kids as well as the adults. It is a perfect site for those who want to get some respite from the hustle-bustle of the city life. The amphitheater located within the precincts of this scenic garden has become a popular site for conducting cultural events. A number of music, art, and other cultural shows take place in this amphitheater. The Nehru Rose Garden near the amphitheater has around 250 varieties of roses which are a treat to the senses. There is also a greenhouse inside the park which contains more than 300 species of flora. The toy train inside the park is also a popular attraction for the kids.

Best Time To Visit:-
Although the park is open all year round and can be visited any day from 09:00 AM to 08:00 PM, the best time according to the climate and weather conditions would be from September to March. The temperature during these months is neither too low nor too high and is ideal to make a visit to Mahatma Gandhi Park.
