Sasivekalu Ganesha Temple

Sasivekalu Ganesha Temple needs no formal introduction. It is a remarkable tourist cum pilgrimage site in Hampi, Karnataka. As per its name, this temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and was constructed in the mid-fifteenth century. It was built under the reign of the King Narasimha II as he was an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha. In this temple, Lord Ganesha is depicted with a humongous gut wrapped by a snake. According to a tale, Lord Ganesha gulped too many dishes that made his tummy to explode. To prevent this, he tied a snake around the gut.

4)    The idol is eight feet tall and is placed under a stone mandapa. The roof is supported by the pillars that do not have any texture, pattern or carving done on them.
