Bundi is one of the ancient cities of Rajasthan, which is about 1000 year old. The city came under the rule of Rajputs in the 14th century and was remained under their control till the year 2009. The Bundi city became a flourishing place of Rajasthan as the Rajput rulers had an excellent political sense and had friendly relationship with British, Mughals and the government of India. The history of Bundi Palace has got emerged because of Rao Raja Ratan Singh, who was a well-known ruler of Bundi and tied a close bond with Mughal emperor Jahangir. You can also see Hathi Pol (Elephant Gate), Ratan Daulat or Diwan-i-Am (Hall of Public Audience) made with a white marble coronation throne in this palace.
