Visitors need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Nubra Valley.

Permit Fee: Approx. ₹400–₹600 per person
Documents Required: Valid ID proof such as Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Driving License
Permits can be obtained online or from the Leh DC office before starting the journey.
By Air: The nearest airport is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh. From Leh, Nubra Valley is around 120 km away.
By Road: The most popular route is via Khardung La Pass from Leh. The journey takes around 5 to 7 hours depending on road conditions and weather.
By Bike or Car: Many tourists prefer renting bikes or SUVs from Leh for an adventurous road trip experience.
Nubra Valley has a cold desert climate with sunny days and cold nights.
Summer (May to September): 10°C to 25°C – Best time to visit
Winter (October to April): -10°C to -30°C with heavy snowfall in higher regions
