Nalanda is not about the historical and religious sites, but, the place is also popular for recreation. Pandu Pokhar is one such amazing recreational spot in Nalanda, Bihar. It is a mesmerizing place for spending a couple of hours away from the chaos of life. Locals and visitors equally flock to the place for rejuvenating their senses.

Why Is It Famous?
1) Pandu Pokhar bears the name of King Pandu, the father of Pandavas. According to the legends, he conquered the place after being victorious in a local battle.
2) Since the place he conquered was uninhabited and spread over acres of land, he decided to convert it into a horse stable.
3) The place people know by the name of Pandu Pokhar was the last piece of land. He created a swale where rainwater accumulated & formed  a pond.
4) The pond was named after King Pandu. It was developed into a recreational site by the zonal authorities.

Best Time To Visit:-
Though people visit Pandu Pokhar throughout the year, the best time for visiting the place is between October-March. It is the apt season because the weather is perfect for enjoying trekking around the nearby areas.
