Things To Do In Amritsar

Amritsar receives both domestic and NRI tourism. Its tourism is unique in the sense that people do not only visit to see the important places but also to feast upon the delicious food.

Religious: The city is the home to Harmandir Sahib, popularly called Golden Temple. It is the most important Sikh pilgrim which is always abuzz with hundreds of people. Durgiana Temple is a very famous cave temple.

Historical- The Jallianwala Bagh is the site where the massacre occurred during British regime, killing thousands. The well in which people jumped and drowned is a protected site inside the premises.

Museum: Summer Palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh has a collection of relics from the Sikh period, such as weapons, coins, miniatures and other items.

Food: It is a must to try some of the specialties of this city. Some of them are langars at the Golden Temple, lassi (buttermilk), amritsari fish, tandoori kulcha, pinnis and laddoos.
