Griddhakuta Hill - Rajgir India

Griddhakuta Hill is a sacred hill in the region of Rajgir. It is a religious small hill where Buddha paid frequent visits to have a dialogue with his disciples. The second helm of commandments by Buddha was taught here. Lotus Sutra and Prajnaparamita were also dictated at Griddhakuta Hill by him. Vulture Hill is another name of this hill.

Griddhakuta Hill is famous because this place was one of the favorite places of Lord Buddha. He often visited this place to have a dialogue with his disciples. He spent the rainy season at this hill meditating and sermonizing. A small temple stands on the exact place where Buddha used to sit.
The Japanese Buddha Sangha has built a Peace Pagoda as a tribute to Lord Buddha.
