Chini-ka-rauza is located on the east bank of Yamuna River less than 1 km north of Itimad-ud-daulah. Afzal Khan, a Persian poet and Shah Jahan’s prime minister built it in 1635. It depicts the Persian influence on Mughal architecture.

Afzal Khan constructed the squat, square Tomb surmounted by a single huge dome, which is decorated by glazed tiles on the façade..
