It is a red stone mosque and the striking feature of this mosque is that it faces towards the east. The mosque was primarily built for aesthetic appeal to maintain symmetry with the mosque on the left side of the Taj Mahal. Since it faces east, no prayers are offered in this mosque. Jawab Masjid was built to maintain symmetry. To the left of the Taj is a mosque made up of red sandstone. It is a common practice to build a mosque next to a tomb, as it sanctifies the area and provides for a place of worship. This mosque is still used for Friday prayers.
