This city has numerous places of interest for tourists and native people. The Chinese Fishing Nets called Cheenavala are the official icon of Kochi. Chinese Emperor Kubalagi, gifted them to Kochi King in 14th century. The Portuguese constructed some of oldest churches in the city, such as Santacruz Basilica and St. Francis Church.
